Welcome to Sacred Heart of Jesus Men's Club Web Site
The Men’s Club offers a chance for men of the Parish to live out their faith, whether it is through service, fellowship, or prayer. All Catholic men of the Parish and non-Catholic spouses of ladies of the Parish are eligible to become members of the Men’s Club. The Men’s Club is devoted to promoting the Catholic faith, sociability, and supporting parish and community charitable efforts.
The Men’s Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, September through May, at 5:00 PM in the Lower Hall of the Church. If you would like to attend one of our meetings simply contact one of our members and let them know you’d like to attend. It’s that easy.
We have two major fundraisers each year, a chicken bake in the fall and a fish bake during Lent. We support Jackson House, Samaritan Ministries, Paul Bewie Boys & Girls Club, McCauly Center Meals on Wheels, St. John’s School in Hot Springs,Our Lady of Fatima School in Benton, and Sacred Heart Christmas Baskets, among others. There are typically several men from the Club that are actively involved in most of these organizations.
On the social front, aside from our meetings, we start and end our year by inviting the spouses and widows of former members to our Kickoff Dinner in September and our Steak Fry in May. We also have a Christmas Dinner wiih wives and widows at our normal dinner meeting in December. We also have an annual trip to see the Arkansas Traveler Basebal team play at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock in May or June of each year.
Please join us.
The Men's Club Chicken Bake was held on Friday evening, September 25th in the Lower Hall of the Church. Rick Hiemenz and his crew prepared dinner for over 400 patrons with the food being served by members of the Men's Club. This is one of two major fundraisers for the Men's Club, which supports several local charities and the Catholic schools in Hot Springs and Benton, AR.
The event coordinator, Joe Lemmler, did a great job in working with over 50 Men's Club volunteers to be in the right place at the right time. A great job by all and another successful event.

Dinner at the pavilion at Dickey-Stephens Ballpark |
Once at the Ballpark, the attendees were served a traditional baseball dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs in a pavilion adjacent to the stadium. After dinner the group moved over to the stadium and were in excellent seats along the 1st baseline. Unfortunately the Travelers lost to the Springfield Cardinals 2 to 0. The group departed the stadium at 10:00M and arrived back at Church after 11:00M, tired but happy after a great outing.
As a footnote to the outing, Marshall and Evelyn Garrison signed up for a drawing for a trip to San Antonio and were notified later that they had won. It pays to travel with the Men's Club. Sign up for next years trip when it is announced and enjoy the fun.
The "Rejoice" singers perform |
The highlight of the evening was a performance by the group "Rejoice", 5 ladies who performed several upbeat gospel songs that delighted those present at the dinner.
